The show ‘Minerals’ was conceived by the curator Sandra Reford, president of Ad Maiora Canada, with the “aim to show the beauty of minerals through textile expression while bringing together two disciplines, art and science.”
Sandra will be posting photos on her blog in the coming weeks of the works accepted in the show. http://sandrasstudio.blogspot.ca/ Nineteen submissions were received from Nova Scotia, Ontario and Saskatchewan and even one from a Canadian living in Italy!
All works will be for sale with 20% of the sale price being donated to ‘Mining Matters’, a charitable organization that promotes education in geology and mineral resources to elementary and high schools across Canada http://www.pdac.ca/miningmatters/
